Specifications

Shield™ panel technical data

The published performance figures for the Shield™ building system, in one place. Everything here is taken from Guardian's three-part specification (CSI Section 07480) and the Shield™ technical product description, with the clause cited under each table.

Thermal resistance

Insulation R-value changes with temperature, so the specification publishes each panel at two mean temperatures. Use the one that matches your climate and season.

Wall panels

Thickness R at 40 °F R at 75 °F
9¼ in R-38 R-35
7¼ in R-30 R-28
6 in R-25 R-23

Roof panels

Thickness R at 40 °F R at 75 °F
12 in R-50 R-46
8 in R-33 R-30
6 in R-25 R-23

Across the product range Guardian publishes R-16 to R-75 depending on panel type and thickness: curtain walls R-16 to R-75, load-bearing walls R-16 to R-50, roof panels R-30 to R-75.
