What it measures
Measures how much airborne sound an assembly stops, band by band, between two reverberation rooms. The single-number Sound Transmission Class is derived from the result.
Why it matters for a panel envelope
It is how a hotel, a dormitory, a multifamily demising wall or a recording studio wall is specified and verified.
Guardian Shield™
An STC rating of up to 59 is available in an engineered assembly. Sound absorption is 0.36 at 1,000 cps, 0.54 at 2,000 cps and 0.38 at 4,000 cps.
